Easy exercises, fitness and fun!
With so many ideas for merging fun with exercise, enjoying exercise on vacations (or alternatively, enjoying a vacation with exercise) is one of the newest. However, with so many sorts of holidays, vacations and trips out there, exercise cannot be uniform and consistent everywhere. Therefore, before performing your workouts on a vacation, questions like what, when, where and how much should fit into your plan. Following are some major tips to help you figure out what would suit you the best and where to find it.
Beach exercises & games A typical beach provides you with numerous opportunities to perform a variety of exercises. First, you can start with swimming, as it involves almost each and every muscle and joint of your body, including your very core. If you go to the beach with kids, then you can also play fun games like Frisbee, baseball, football, ball catching or anything else that you love.
Cruise workouts You must have heard of cruise dates and dinners, but you can also enjoy doing your favorite workouts there, as most of the cruise ships are well-equipped with a small gym or weight room. Also, large cruise ships have swimming pools where you can perform a lot of water sports.
Exercise trips Some vacation ideas lend themselves to physical activity as they are inherently aerobic. Some of these include going for skiing, hiking and whitewater rafting. These strenuous exercises involve all of your body and are considered good fitness activities for almost every age and gender.
Visiting and sightseeing Similarly, visiting a big city, like London, New York, Florida or Chicago, or going to visit your buddies or family, can be a great way to exercise. Even if you’re simply walking or running with your buddy or a sibling, you ‘ll not only get in some good aerobic exercise, but will also take in the beautiful sites of the city.
Simple equipment for vacation exercise There are a few, simple pieces of equipment you can take with you on your trip in your suitcase) e.g. an exercise band, a jump rope (for warm up, whole body workout), a stress ball (for forearms) or ankle weights (for leg raises, calf raises).
Some other general exercises There are also some time-tested workouts which you can try as you head to your vacation destination. You can easily do them while you’re in your car or the plane, or even at a rest stop. These include using a squeeze ball, crunches, jumping jacks or sprints (should stretch beforehand). And of course, don’t forget those traditional pushups, sit-ups and stretching which don’t require any apparatus at all; you can do these classics anywhere, everywhere, anytime, all the time!
Remember, from now on, you don’t need to leave your exercise routine at home as you take some days off from the rest of your life. It’s now possible to stay on top of your routine, even when you are far away from your gym or home. The basic advantage of doing exercise on vacations is hidden in the fact that it doesn’t exhaust you. You have fun and enjoy doing even the heaviest workouts without even really feeling it, with all those beautiful sights surrounding you all the time!
