Christina Leon performs Lateral Raises using a set of dumbbells to target the shoulder area. There are many facets to the shoulder and lateral raises target just one aspect. For a total shoulder workout, you also need to incorporate over head presses, upright rows, front raises and a few push ups.
If you are dealing with shoulder pain, stiffness or rehabilitating an injury in the shoulder area you may want to consider adding some self myofascial release with a foam roller to your workout routine or at least some basic stretching.
