Well, if you are like the millions of fans who tune in each month to watch Bob and Jillian kick butt then you have seen Jacob's Ladder: The Ultimate Fitness Experience. It is a cardiovascular piece of equipment which looks like a ladder going nowhere. Basically you start by climbing in a half vertical, half horizontal position and your own body weight is what causes the motion of the climber.   

 
Sounds easy?  Think again. Compared to a recumbent bike where you are seated and supported or the treadmill where all you do is take a leisurely stroll to get your heart rate up, Jacobs Ladder requires you to get on all fours and move them in unison.
