This video will guide you through performing abdominal crunches to target the rectus abdominus which is the muscle group responsible for those six pack abs! When you perform a crunch, lay flat on your mat and place the fingers lightly behind the head. Let the elbows fall out and lift the head using the abdominals not the arms. Press your spine into the mat and hold the contraction for a few moments before you release.
To perform crunches repeatedly you want to use a good fitness mat for comfort and support. You abs will support your lower back to keep you pain free.
