When you tap into them the right way, the power of your emotions can propel you to higher levels of performance and accomplishment. You can enjoy more intense workouts and recover faster as a result of listening to your mind and your body. Though the human brain is complex, learning to harness the power of your emotions can systematic and simple if you really strive to get in touch with your inner responses and what makes you tick.

· Program the Conscious Mind
· Habits and the Subconscious
· Goals and Intentions

Program the Conscious Mind

Psychologists say that most people spend the majority of their conscious life navigating between 3 or 4 feedback loops established in the past. In other words, they are operating out of a previous thought system not rooted in the present. To program the conscious mind is to bring yourself back into the present and take control of what you are thinking on a moment-to-moment basis. The ability to super-charge your workouts will require you to break these outdated feedback loops from the past with fresh and relevant thinking. Each time you find yourself not present in the moment and caught in one of these feedback loops, shift your full attention toward what you are doing now. Embrace the moment with a sense of curiosity and adventure. Watch and investigate the details that make up your present experience with enthusiasm and wonder!

Habits and the Subconscious
The gatekeeper of the mind is the conscious mind and the subconscious mind relies on it to decide what is relevant and real. The subconscious mind is not the decision maker but only gives feedback to bodily systems based on what the conscious mind has concluded. This is a valuable piece of knowledge for the individual seeking to super-charge their workouts. If your emotional contribution toward your workout is negative, depressing and miserable, then the subconscious mind is going to interpret this as avoidance behavior. It will do everything in its power to help you accomplish avoidance. It doesn’t know any better and is just operating off of the decisions of the conscious mind. Break the cycle and inject enthusiasm and energy by changing your associations. Start by visualizing daily the positive aspects of your workouts and enlarge the positive feelings you experience when you have completed your routines. Do this often and do it every day!

Goals and Intentions
When formulating your fitness and workout goals, bring the positive and enjoyable emotions you will experience into the mix. Goals and intentions should be laced with a dynamic sense of accomplishment that gives you goose bumps and sends a shiver up your spine. If your goals are stoic and lackluster, you will be stripping them of the potential power to propel you toward success. Link the most positive feelings of accomplishment that you can think of with the completion of your goals and intentions. Spend 10 or 15 minutes before every workout bringing your attention back in touch with this dynamic state of mind and unleash the power to super-charge every workout!
