Why work the stabilizers?

Your main muscle groups that you can work by doing exercise are movers and stabilizers, sure the heart too but we are focusing on the movers and stabilizers. Movers are big muscles that move your body and stabilizers hold your bones together and in the proper place to keep you from being injured during movement.

According to the American Council on Exercise, "Stabilizing muscle contractions are generally isometric contractions that act to support the trunk, limit movement in a joint, or control balance." This means the stabilizers are not doing the work but make sure that the movers can do their job.
