A jab is a quick punch thrown off of the front arm or the arm furthest from the body. A jab is thrown to measure the distance to your target therefore is not a power punch but rather a quick punch. You want to select quality gloves like TITLE brand to be sure they will stand the test of time and intensity.  Your gloves also need to fit properly.  Thankfully the gloves listed on this page are secured with a hook and loop fastener however there are neoprene slide on gloves that if not properly sized can cause you more discomfort than benefit. Be sure to select the appropriate level of weight for your fitness ability. Although one pound does not seem like a lot of weight, that incremental increase will make a vast difference in your workouts.
