This fitness program was created in California by fitness guru Mindy Mylrea. The concept behind the Gliding Disc craze concept is simple: Step on slippery, pancake-shaped discs while performing certain exercises (lunges and other traditional aerobic moves). Gliding, as its called does take a little practice, the workout is fantastic.

Pushups
Begin in pushup position, either on the toes or knees, with Gliders under both hands directly under the shoulders. Slide hands out to either side and lower into a pushup. As you push up, slide the hands back together and repeat. For added intensity, do the pushups on toes.
"It's all about learning not to fall," says Robert Sherman, owner of F.I.T. Inc. in Bethesda, the first studio in the area to offer gliding workouts.
At F.I.T. there are Glider classes which only use the discs for twenty minutes or so because the workout is so challenging.
