What's Special About these Polar GPS Sensors?
- The G1 and G3 GPS Sensors are excellent for use while running, walking, kayaking, cross-country skiing, and skating
- They are both water resistant allowing to sweat on them or wear in bad weather conditions
For The Multi Sport Athletes To Remain Competitive They Must Be Able To Train Across Several Modalities, Now They Can with the Polar GPS Sensors
- GPS stands for global positioning system and it allows your every move to be tracked, measured and recorded for stats and future comparisons
- The Polar G3 GPS sensor is small and lightweight so it does not interfere with your training
- The G3 communicates wirelessly to the RS800 training computer
- The G3 can handle faster speeds than the G1 therefore you can use it for cycling
- Both of the Polar GPS Sensors are excellent substitutes for the Polar S1 Foot Pod
- The G1 is compatible with the Polar RS200, RS400, S625X, and S725X wrist-top training computers
- The G1 has a speed range of 0 to 18.3 miles per hour, the G3 ranges from 0 to 123.6 mph
G1 GPS Sensor
The G1 is a water resistant sensor which works by measuring the distance between the sensor and three or more satellites. In order for the GPS to operate there must be visibility between it and the GPS satellites. You also cannot expect the system to function properly through metal or water because it replies on radio frequency technology. Obviously this type of technology requires battery functioning since you cannot be hooked to a power cord. The G1 operates on AA batteries and will last up to 10 hours in warm conditions or up to 15 hours in low-power mode.
G3 GPS Sensor
The G3 GPS sensor is small and easy to wear during long training sessions. It will communicate wirelessly with the RS800 wristwatch. The G3 sensor uses the SiRFstarIII chipset for accuracy. This unit is water-resistant to three bars and weighs only 80 grams (including the battery). The G3 also operates on AA batteries and lasts up to 20 hours on continual use.

- Weighs 80 grams (including the battery)
- Requires a single AA battery
- Lasts up to 20 hours of continual use
- Measures 2.36 by 2.44 by 0.94 inches (W x H x D)
- Includes a strap and storage pouch
Run, cycle, hiking, kayaking, in line skating, walking and more
A GPS system is a navigational system which requires satellites to work in conjunction with computers, on this case, heart rate monitors and training computers, to determine the latitude and longitude of a receiver on Earth by computing the time difference for signals from different satellites to reach the receiver. This technology allows you to measure your speed and distance while you train outdoors.
