Training on the ball allows you to stimulate the body's natural motor reflexes which in turn allows the body to react as a unit as opposed to just working one muscle at a time.
Training on the ball activates the entire body to participate to maintain correct posture and balance, and to perform dynamic exercise movement. If you are training properly on the ball the body is required to utilize various muscles for stabilization.
